Content/skills Template

Students are to analyse the sporting activities carried out at their school as well as in their local area.
This should help them to focus on how they keep fit and healthy.

PowerPoint presentation (see attached PowerPoint document)

Page 1: Photographic overview of sports carried out in school

Page 2-4: 3 pages, each containing a selection of photographs and a small amount of information
on each sport (in bullet point format).

Page 5-6: Photograph overview of sporting events held in the local area with text to describe the events

Breakdown of tasks

To establish which sports are carried out in school and determine which sports in particular
are going to be included in the presentation

To carry out the sports chosen or to attend a sporting activity if one has already arranged
e.g. Cricket practice after school.

To photograph students playing/practicing the sports.

To make notes about the sports: Basic rules

Number of players

Timings of halves

History of the sport

When/where it’s played

Small groups of students could be assigned to one of the sports and responsible for gathering photographs/information.

Results

Photographs taken and imported into the presentation
Information researched and imported into the presentation
The final presentation, exhibiting an overview of sports carried out in school and in the region
should be approximately 5 slides long

Template

The basic template shows an example of the layout. Please feel free to alter the backgrounds and
add animation between slides. You may even wish to add sound or video.

Responsibility

All completed PowerPoint presentations are to be e-mailed back to Fairfax School where they
will be collated.

Deadline date

All schools need to have the final draft e-mailed to Fairfax School by the April 15^th 2005.

All schools will receive a copy of the collated presentations in April 30^th 2005.

The collated presentations should also be accessible on the web-site from May 9^th 2005.
